This Privacy Policy outlines our policies and procedures for collecting, using, and disclosing your information when you use the Service. It also informs you of your privacy rights and how the law protects you. We use your personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Welcome To FaceSD : Face Editor’S Privacy Policy!
If you decide not to read this entire Privacy Policy, we want you to walk away with a few key points about FaceApp’s privacy practices:
The Apps are photo editors that allow users to edit portraits with highly realistic facial transformations.
We do not use photographs you provide when you use the Apps for any reason other than to provide you with the editing functionality of the Apps.
We use third-party cloud providers ( specifically, Google Cloud Platform , Amazon Web Services and Vultr Services) to process and edit photographs and videos.
You only send to the cloud the photographs that you specifically select for editing.
Photographs are temporarily cached on the cloud servers during the editing process, and encrypted using a key stored locally on your mobile device.
Photographs may remain in the cloud for a maximum limited period of 24 to 48 hours, for improved performance and lower bandwidth allowing additional changes to recently selected photos in an optimal manner.
Here’s more on our privacy practices.

2. App permission
We use various permissions in our app to provide you with the best experience. Here is an explanation of the permissions we require:
- Camera Permission: We request access to your camera primarily for the purpose of allowing users to take photos and apply facial beauty enhancements. We will not access your camera without your explicit consent.
- Photo Library Permission: We need to access your photo album to save photos. We will not access your camera without your explicit consent.
3.1. When you use the app and select photographs for editing, we temporarily store them for processing to provide the requested editing service:
- The photographs you choose while using the app, either through your device's camera or camera roll (if you've granted the app permission to access them) . We process only the specific photos you decide to modify using the app, and we do not collect your entire photo album, even if you grant us access. Each photograph you select is safeguarded using an encryption key stored locally on your device. This means that only the device from which the photograph was submitted through the app can view it. Please note that while we don't request or require any metadata attached to the photos you select for editing, default metadata (like geotags) may be associated with your photos. We take measures to remove any metadata linked to a photo you provide through the app. These photos may be temporarily stored in the cloud for a limited period, typically between 24 to 48 hours after your last edit, allowing you to return to them and make additional changes if you wish.
3.2. When you use the application and website, we may collect certain information, including:
- Application usage information and online activity data, such as:
- Information on how you use the application and interact with it, including the features you use, your preferred language, the date and time of your initial application installation, and the date and time of application launches.
- Referral sources for our website. Our service providers and certain third parties (such as online advertising networks and their clients) may also collect such information over time through third-party websites and mobile applications. This information may be collected on our website using cookies, browser local storage (also known as Local Storage Objects or "LSO"), web beacons, and similar technologies. We may collect this information directly or through the use of third-party software development kits ("SDKs"). SDKs can enable third parties to collect information directly from the application.
- Device data, including information such as your computer and mobile device's operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, push tokens, Google Advertising ID and Apple ID for advertising, browser type, screen resolution, IP address (and the related city/country where you are located), and the websites you visited before accessing our website.
Only online identifiers such as IP address, application instance ID (assigned to copies of the application installed on your device), and advertising IDs are typically considered personal data. However, we cannot directly identify you as the data subject based on such identifiers.
3.3. When you contact us via email, we may also collect:
- Contact information, such as your name and email address, along with information related to your communication.

- Creating anonymous, aggregated, or de-identified data: We may generate anonymous, aggregated, or de-identified data for legitimate business interests and share it with third parties.
4.3. We will only process personal information based on our legitimate interests when these interests do not override your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
5. How We Share Your Information
5.1. We do not share user photographs with third parties, except for the temporary caching of encrypted versions with our cloud providers, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services and Vultr Services, solely to enable the photo editing features of the Apps.

- Affiliates: Information collected from you may be shared with our subsidiaries and affiliates, in line with the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- Service providers: Your information may be shared with service providers who perform tasks on our behalf or assist in the operation of the Apps (such as customer support, hosting, analytics, email delivery, marketing, and database management services). These third parties may only use your information as directed or authorized by us and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. They are prohibited from using or disclosing your information for any other purpose.
- Advertising partners: When third-party cookies and other tracking tools are employed, our advertising partners may collect data from your device for the purpose of displaying advertisements within the Apps and promoting the Site and Apps (including related content) on other online platforms.

To comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal processes, we may need to disclose your information, such as responding to subpoenas or requests from government authorities, or for the reasons of compliance, fraud prevention, and security mentioned above. Please note that we cannot access your photos or videos because they are cached in encrypted format, and the decryption keys reside on the user's device, making it impossible for us to disclose such content.
7. Retention
We have configured Google Cloud Platform , Amazon Web Services and Vultr Services to delete photos, along with any associated information, within 24 to 48 hours after your last use of the application to edit them. This ensures that you can revisit your photos or videos during this time period for further modifications.
For non-photo information that we may collect, we will retain such data only for the necessary duration to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy.
